To Kinect, or not to Kinect?

Would any of you guys ever buy the Kinect for the Xbox 360?



Personally, I think it's a waste of time and money. I don't think it is going to have a lot of good games. I mean it's just too pricey right now. Plus, I rather play Call of Duty with a controller than with a virtual gun.

To be honest, I think all these move sensor control add-ons are stupid.

I mean really, they are all trying to copy the Wii. Yes , the games may be better on for Kinect and Move, but are they really value for money?

An average Wii console with 1 game+Nunchuck+Classic Controller+2000 Wii points in the UK is about £180
An Xbox 360 Kinect with 1 game alone is £130
Seriously! I would much rather buy the Wii as you get more value for money and you can buy games for less money!

So all in all , I will not be buying Kinect. I would rather buy the Wii.

That's true. I just wish that the Wii had better games, you can play more games online with your friends and talk to them. I don't know how Kinect would work in parties. If I say, "What's up guys?", would Kinect do a random thing like bring me to the Dashboard, or bring me to the Marketplace?

i dont have a x-box and even if i got one pls i wouldnt buy a kinect even if it was cheap. waste of money for sure

Skip the Kinect, it will never have any decent games.

No. I'm too young to be able to afford games for the ps3 and then buy a kinect and even more games for it when they probably won't be all too good.

My friend got the Kinect from his parents last Christmas. His little brother opened it, and played "Kinect Adventures" one time. Since then, the thing hasn't been used. He even offered to give it to me for free, so I took it, tried it, and gave it right back. The thing really has no use. Imagine having a Wii, but with a lot worse motion sensing technology. If I reach my hand up to scratch my nose while playing the Kinect Soccer, I'll kick the ball.

I can understand why microsoft is trying to contend with Nintendo.....but I think sticking with the whole awesome graphics and gameplay is a better idea than the motion technology.

I watched E3 this year like I do every year, if you doht know what that is it is the biggest gaming convention ever. Each company talks about new products and games that will be coming out and show trailers for the games to get you hyped for it. During Microsofts conference they showed some pretty neat stuff for the kinect. The game Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be available for kinect and you should see what the guy was doing with it. The guys left hand was moved the reticule and when he opened his right hand the gun would shoot until he closed it again. If he moved his arm up the gun wold reload and if he moved his arm down it would bring his scope up. Along with that the guns were completely customizable and when the guy said optimize for short range the guns would then explode out off the screen and come back with a shorter barrel and shotgun attachment ect. stuff for short range. He did all this stuff without a controller, just the kinect. The kinect has alot of potential to be good, if you want to spend 300 dollars on a kinect be my guest. Here the video, Its pretty cool.

I, personally, own the Kinect, and I find it to be boring when playing alone. If you wish to have fun playing it, you have to have multiple people over.

Dance Central/Michael Jackson is super fun
Kinect Sports is kind of fun (Soccer sucks)
Kinect Adventures is also pretty fun
Kinectamles, I haven't tried, but my brother says it is fun...(although I doubt it)
The new Star Wars game coming out looks decent, although they could improve the mechanics a bit.

Overall, unless if you have lots of parties with a big TV, then do not get a Kinect.

Why don't you like it? It is because of the current games they have for it, or it just doesn't interest you?

i know people who have it. 3 of the 4 traded it back to gamestop. the one who didn't couldn't cus his kids broke it. That and i think sony and microsoft are just trying to rip off the wii because it got better sales.


but yeah it doesn't interest me, and the games i've seen compatable with it looked totally lame. the wii at least has things like the zelda games, microsoft has no games that they could integrate with it without destroying the entire game.
